The STATUE project represents a probe of Slovak sculpture through a series of exhibitions of sculpture, glass and ceramic graduates of Art Academies/Art Schools over last 60 years. The intention is gradually present in generations of the images of the form and developement of chamber sculptures, its author´s background. Through exposed works on formal tendencies on sculptural practices and content lines.
After the opening of exhibition STATUE 2018 last year of graduates of Art Academies in Bratislava & Prague 1968-1978, the second part of the STATUE 2019 project focuses on the presentation of the creation of Slovak graduates of higher art schools from 1979-89 .Conditions and contradictory tendencies after so called normalization period /seventies- eighties decades/, revolution period with which this generation equaled, signed on to its umbalanced value profile when composing an author´s representation, we as in first exhibition prefered non-members of the Communist party, who instead of a regime of anticipated, politically committed personal and working collaboration sought autonomously the original artistic expression and its own space of expression of rare occassions, also those who did not change their creative ambitions in a priori commercial strategy.
Statue 2019 exhibition is made up of sixteen artists, whose selection was an effort /not always feasible to imply/ a certain developemental arc to remid the aerly work of post-graduate sudies in current form
